| My airframe/engine isn't on EAA's list. What do I do?EAA's auto fuel STCs cover most popular aircraft engines of 150 horsepower or less that were originally certificated for 80/87 octane avgas, and many popular airframes in which those engines are typically installed. However, there are some engines and airframes that are not covered by EAAs STCs. These aircraft and engines may be covered by STCs from an alternate source. Petersen Aviation, of Minden, NE, also offers auto fuel STCs for a wide variety of airframes and engines. Petersen's and EAA's eligibility lists are very similar, but not identical. An airframe or engine that is not covered by EAA's STCs may be covered by Petersen's, and vice versa. If you can't find your airframe or engine on EAA's list, check with Petersen at www.autofuelstc.com or by calling 308-832-2050. There may be the rare occasion where EAA's STC covers the engine or airframe of an aircraft, but not both. In this case, if Petersen's STC covers the component that's missing from EAA's eligibility list, the two organizations can work together to get the aircraft approved for auto fuel. If this situation arises, you should call EAA at 920-426-4843 and discuss a solution. |
